SOFT WEBtm LEADS Our Soft Webtm Leads are made from the same wonderful webbing as our collars, soft, supple and colorfast, and as comfortable on your hands as the collars are on your dog's neck. Soft Webtm leads will not give you rope burn! People with arthritis have remarked how they like our leads as they are easy to grasp. We have carefully selected bolt snaps with consideration of proportion of size and weight of dog, to weight and strength of bolt snap. Please see guidelines below for choosing the lead best suited for your dog.
Machine washable! Like our Soft Web tm Collars, our Soft Webtm Leads wash beautifully. Leads can be washed individually or separately by simply wrapping bolt snap(s) in a heavy terry washcloth (or similar) and securing with a heavy rubberband. Gather up the rest of the lead and either secure with another heavy rubber band and/or place in a laundry bag. Soft WebtmLeads (as well as Soft Webtm Collars) are colorfast and maintain their suppleness after repeated washings. If you feel you lead is getting stiffer than it originally was, it probably is time to wash it!
Determing what lead is best for your dog
Some of the suggested breeds overlap, this is a result of customer personal preference, and the weight and size variation within breeds. 1" Soft Web Lead uses a sturdy solid bronze bolt snap, and is suitable for large to giant breeds. Some examples would be: larger Sporting breeds (Retrievers and Pointers, Spinone Italiano, etc.); some of the larger Hounds (Bloodhound, Coonhound, Irish Wolfhound, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, etc.); the larger Working breeds (Akita, Alaskan Malamute, Anatolian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog, Bullmastiff, Great Dane, Great Pyrenees, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Komondorok, Kuvaszok, Mastiff, Newfoundland, Rottweiler, etc.); the larger Herding breeds (Bouviers des Flandres, German Shepherd Dog, etc.)
9/16" Soft Web Lead uses a solid Italian Bronze Bolt snap (Italian Bronze is commonly found on sled dog driver's gang lines) and is suitable for medium sized dogs. Examples are: most Sporting breeds; most Hounds; the medium sized Working breeds, larger Terriers; larger Non-Sporting breeds, most Herding breeds
Mini Soft Web Lead uses a lighter weight nickel plate zinc diecast bolt snap and is suitable for toy to small sized dogs, 20 lbs and under.
CLIMBING CORD LEADS
These leads are super light weight, round and only 1/8" in diameter. Handle is constructed of 9/16" Soft Webtm. Bolt snap is knotted onto Climbing Cord. Great for lead breaking puppies, cats, ferrets, rabbits, etc. They could cause rope burn. Wash the same as our Soft Webtm Leads. Climbing Cord Leads use a light weight nickel plate bolt snap and are best suited for Toy sized dogs
