Our Soft Sliptm is a wonderfully functional and diverse collar. It's sturdy limited slip design is one that has been proven over the years by dog mushers. My personal favorite because it doesn't damage neck hair and offers more control than a regular buckle collar. Also very easy to put on and take off. A favorite of long coated breeds because there isn't a buckle to catch or pinch hair. If you need strength or control, this is the collar for you. Great for working "soft" or young dogs in obedience. Colorfast and machine washable.

The Soft Sliptm is put on like any other Limited Slip collar: It goes on over your dog's head (like the old full choke training collar, or show collar) with the end or "live" ring to the dog's right. This becomes the ring the lead is attached to. Any tags should be attached to the passive ring the other ring. When properly adjusted, pulling on the "live" or end ring will cause the collar to tighten around your dog's neck, but not to the point of choking. At the same time it will be tight enough so your dog cant "back out" of the collar. For my own dogs I place the collar just behind the ears (at the narrowest part of the neck), pull on the "live" ring so that it snugs up around the dog's neck, then check to see that I can get a couple of fingers (flat) between the collar and the dog's neck. This way my dog can't back out of the collar, and there wont be any choking. If you have an escape artist and/or if this is a concern, double check that the collar is snug enough. Fitting adjustments are easiest with the collar off the dog. Always check the collar after any adjusting of the size. If you have a double coated breed check the adjustment as the dog is coming in or out of coat.

After adjusting, if there is webbing doubled back on itself, be sure it goes to the side opposite the slip section or the collar will not slip and release. Attach tags to the passive ring.

Measure both the neck and the widest part of the head the collar must slip over.

1" and 9/16" Black Stainless Steel (welded) d-rings and black slide adjustment buckle sewn w/black stitching. Our 100% Nylon Soft Webtm will not damage, wear, cut or stain neck fur - Guaranteed!

Our 1" Soft Webtm is woven tighter, and has a gross grain pattern, making it more snag resistant.

A convenient side-release buckle makes this buckle collar easy to put on and take off. Popular in the 1" version with sporting dogs. Same Soft Webtm as in our Soft Sliptm that won't leave a colored ring on your dog's neck or wear fur. Lots of folks like the Mini Soft Snaptm for color marking puppies. If you are unsure whether your dog needs a Soft Sliptm or a Soft SnapTM, and strength is a factor, go with the Soft Sliptm.
