½" Mini SoftSlip™ Collar

½" Mini SoftSlip™ Collar

$9.95

We recommend this weight collar for toy to small breeds. Great everyday collar. If you need strength or control, this is the collar for you.

To determine the correct size for your dog, measure around the widest part of dog’s head, and choose a size that will go over your dog’s head.

  • With a limited-slip section, a design used by dog mushers for years, this collar offers humane control — more control than a regular buckle collar, yet also easy to put on and take off.

  • When fitted correctly, the dog will feel the collar tighten, but not to the point of choking, and your dog will not be able to back out of the collar.

  • This collar is great for working "soft" or young dogs in obedience, and is ideal for shows. AKC Obedience ring legal.

  • This is the classic collar for long coated breeds because there isn't a buckle to damage, wear, catch, cut or pinch hair.

  • SoftWeb™ products are soft, strong, and machine washable, retaining their original brilliant color wash after wash.

  • SoftWeb™ will not damage, cut or discolor neck fur, even when wet.

  • Black Stainless Steel (welded) d-rings and black slide adjustment buckle sewn with black stitching.

  • We make this collar in 3 adjustable sizes: Small 6–9 inches, Medium 8–13 inches, and Large 10–16 inches.

  • Choose from 10 colors: New Pink, Rose, Flame Orange, Red, Teal, Royal Blue, Purple, Twilight, Black, and Gold.

Machine washable! Our SoftWeb Collars wash beautifully. SoftWeb Collars are colorfast and maintain their suppleness after repeated washings. If you feel your collar is getting stiffer than it was originally, it is probably time to wash it!

FIT & SAFETY

The SoftSlip is fit just like any other Limited Slip design collar: The collar goes on over your dog's head (like the old choke training collar, or show collar) with the end or "live" ring to the dog's right. This is also the ring to which a lead is attached. Any tags should be attached to the other ring, the passive ring. If there is any webbing doubled because of tightening the slide adjustment, be sure it goes to the side opposite the slip section or the collar will not slip and release.

When the collar is properly adjusted, pulling on the "live" or end ring will cause the collar to tighten around your dog's neck, but not to the point of choking, while at the same time not allowing the dog to "back out" of the collar. If you have an escape artist, make sure, as you would with any collar, that you double check to see that the collar is snug enough.

For my own dogs I place the collar at the narrowest part of the neck, just behind the ears, pull on the "live" ring so that it snugs up around the dog's neck, then check to see that I can get a couple of fingers (flat) between the collar and the dog's neck. This way my dog can't back out of the collar, yet there will be no choking.

Fitting adjustments are easiest to do with the collar off of your dog. As you would with any collar, always check the collar after any adjustment. If you have a coated breed check the adjustment as she/he is loosing coat or growing in new coat — with a heavily coated breed it can make a difference.
